Description
Kintsugi: the ancient Japanese art of taking pottery that is broken, or fractured, by using gold or silver to repair it, with the result being better than the original piece. This technique is also the inspiration behind Alec Bradley Cigar Company's newest line. Viewing the current cigar industry as being fractured due to a uncoordinated fight against constantly increasing regulations, AB felt that utilizing the passion for premium cigar making as the gold lacquer that it can bind the cigar industry together. Created at the Raices Cubanas factory in Danlí, Honduras, Kintsugi uses a Trojes region, Honduran habano wrapper over a combination of Nicaraguan and Honduran leaves. The result is a medium-bodied experience filled with notes of earth, wood, chocolate, nuts, and pepper. Alec & Bradley Kintsugi has received the #25 Cigar of 2021 spot with a well-deserved 92-point rating, noting: "...the Rubins created Kintsugi as a metaphor for the cigar industry, which they believe is fragmented. Unbroken, however, is the clear rendition of flavor that’s so artfully conveyed by the corona gorda: dried fruit, cinnamon, espresso bean and hazelnut come together for a complete picture."
