For those of you who don't know, Steve Saka used to be a master blender over at Drew Estate and helped produce some top-notch blends under that brand. Today, he blends with Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust. The Muestra de Saka line of cigars is an interesting one. Mustra de Saka Translates to "Saka's Sample". This is a line of cigars that are limited release blends that are all different and meant to reflect the blending mechanisms of Saka himself. When Saka started working on this blend, he challenged himself to use the old style 'farm blending' where all the filler tobaccos come from the same farm. All the fillers in Nacatamale come from a farm in Jalapa Nicaragua with a Nicaraguan binder and Ecuadorian Habano wrapper on top. The result is a complex medium to full bodied cigar with a notes of deep earthiness, pepper, caramel, and a rich, tobacco sweetness. They come packaged elegantly in individual coffins.
