Paying tribute to history's most sovereign rulers, the Empress of Sheba marks not only the first female, but also the first ruler of African lineage in the collection. While first mentioned in the Hebrew Bible, the Queen of Sheba holds significance to many cultures and religions of the region. Bringing the figure to life (at least in cigar form), El Septimo has rolled the Empress of Sheba in a commanding 6" x 60 format—the first maduro-wrapped gordo from the company to date. The Empress of Sheba is carefully crafted in Costa Rica. The blend begins with the cigar's signature oily maduro wrapper, with the recipe being rounded out by leaves from Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and Nicaragua. This diverse concoction makes for a dark and alluring profile, capturing flavors of toasted oak, white pepper, pumpernickel bread, and exotic spices.
