H. Upmann is one of the Cuban legacy brands. The brand can trace its lineage back to 1844 to a German immigrant named Herman Upmann who bought a cigar factory that year. H. Upmann was the first to use add bands to the cigars and their blends have been favorites of such folks as Winston Churchill and JFK. To say the brand is legendary could be an understatement. So, for such a legendary anniversary and for a legendary brand, who did they turn to for the production of their cigars? AJ Fernandez, of course. And AJ does not disappoint. An all-Nicaraguan blend is topped with a Nicaraguan medio tiempo wrapper. Expect a bold, full-bodied cigar. But in typical AJ fashion, this cigar won’t be too overpowering. Instead, it remains balanced and smooth throughout with notes of cedar, earth, and spice on the finish.
